The quote itself states that one must feel the negative before he can entirely feel the positive. The negative (struggle) ensures that our sense of ambundance gets diminished which is essential because we quite oftenly find ourselves in situations where we start taking things for granted. With the sense of ambundance destroyed we attain a fresh prespective, one that can appreciate.
In simpler words, CREATE A BALANCE. 🙂

The world, quite frankly, consists of two types of people. One of them being the depressed and unmotivated, the people that choose to slack through their oncoming days without much effort, and the other being the motivated, excelling, shining orbs that proceed through their days with an overwhelming pleasant sense of appreciation towards the gift that has been bestowed upon them, their very own life.
Suprisingly though, we all start out as those shining orbs for our childhood is monopolized by happiness, whether or not this prevails through the later stages of our life depends upon numerous factors but the main point is that I fail to recall a time through out the duration of this period at which I was depressed for longer than an hour, my preset emotional state was happiness and bliss, and at times when I would be sad I would never fail to revert back to my previous state.
THIS NO LONGER SEEMS TO BE THE CASE….
Why has my mindset changed in such a manner?
Life and our mindset towards it has become a product of two categorizations of conditions, Positive Enablers and Negative Disablers.
What Are Positive Enablers:
Positive Enablers are the things in life that compel a sense of positivity and motivation in us, they enable us to live life at it’s full potential. Metaphorically speaking they are the happy man’s fuel.
List of Several Enablers:
Freedom: The ability of being independent and free, and not being overburdened with limitations and responsibilites.
Lack of Repetition: The ability to refuse living in a cage of recurring events, for example, waking up, eating the same old usual breakfast, take the same old car through the same old roads to work. Life must alternate on a frequent basis.
Progression: Proceeding through the numerous hurdles that life presents upon us and refusing to remain idle, either by meeting new people, increasing your income, or learning etc.
What Are Negative Disablers:
Negative Disablers are the things in life that drain us from motivation and happiness altogether, they are the emotional leeches that make life seem absurd and pointless.
List Of Several Disablers:
Repetition: Life becomes a cage when everything remains constant, and nothing ever changes because the motive for change becomes non-existent. People in such situations lead lives similar to that of hamsters imprisoned in cages.
Wrong Crowd: An exceptionally intellectual theory states that one is the average of the five people with one most interacts with, therefore those surrounded by the sad will eventually be sad, those surrounded by the happy will be happy.
Being Idle: Lack of progression shall eventually result in an overwhelming amount of sheer boredom, it’s quite to similar to sitting in a dark room for a week without any means of entertainment and in complete isolation, it would only be a matter of time until you grew sad and bored, this can happen on a bigger and more realistic scale.
So What Should I Do:
Seeing as it’s utterly impossible to fully rid yourself of all negative disablers one should aim towards creating an ecosystem which is mostly dominated by positive enablers, this proportion shall assure that you lead a happy life for you shall minimize the exposure with the things that consequently sadden you.
